KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 26-year-old man escaped from Kalamazoo Township Police Wednesday after a struggle in the 2100 block of Sunnyside Drive.
According to a release, the man had several outstanding warrants for his arrest, and when officers attempted to take him into custody he resisted. They tasered him, but he was able to break free and flee.
As of Wednesday evening he was not in custody.
Police also say the man had a handgun in his waistband that fell out during the struggle. They have not released his identity.
