KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Mid-American Conference loves them some Jarvion Franklin.
For the third time in seven games, Western Michigan's true freshman tailback has been named MAC West Offensive Player of the Week, after helping the Broncos knock off defending conference champion Bowling Green 26-14 on Saturday.
Franklin had a career-high 37 carries for 149 yards and a touchdown against the Falcons. His 16 rushing scores this season are tied for most in the nation - and the freshman is sixth in the country with 992 yards on the ground.
Western Michigan (4-3, 2-1 MAC) celebrates Homecoming this weekend, hosting Ohio (4-4, 2-2 MAC) at Waldo Stadium at 2:00 p.m.
