‘Rockford Ninja Warrior’ competition underway this weekend

ROCKFORD,  Mich. — In its inaugural run, the Rockford Ninja Warrior competition is well underway this weekend.

The field for this inaugural event was limited to 150 competitors and has already sold out, but spectators are welcome. It will be held at 7734 Childsdale Avenue NE  (the site of the old paper mill.) Friday’s competition runs from 5-8 p.m., while Saturday’s is 8 a.m.-8 p.m.

The competition this weekend is styled after the well-known American and Japanese television series that challenges participants to take on an increasingly difficult obstacle course. The course features quintuple steps, a balance beam, hanging rope swings, swinging ladders, and of course, a gigantic warped wall.
