ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. — Joshua Keyzer, 15, will stand trial as an adult for a fatal Wayland stabbing and another attempted murder, according to the Allegan County Prosecutor’s Office.
Keyzer was charged June 26 with open murder and assault with intent to murder. He was found competent to stand trial on Thursday, Oct. 2 after undergoing a mental evaluation.
He is accused of fatally stabbing his cousin, 21-year-old Kassandra Keyzer.
He also allegedly stabbed his grandmother, Sharon Keyzer. She survived the attack.
According to the Allegan County Prosecutor’s Office, Keyzer’s preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Oct. 27.
