IONIA COUNTY, Mich. — Michael Elliot was sentenced Tuesday for charges related to his Feb. 2 escape from the Ionia Correctional Facility.

Elliot, 41, was sentenced to between 30 and 50 years in prison, according to officials at Ionia County Circuit Court.

He pleaded no contest Sept. 18 to kidnapping, carjacking and escaping from prison.   After his escape, he abducted a woman and forced her to drive him to Elkhart County, Indiana.

He was arrested Feb. 3 in LaPorte County.

At the time of his escape, Elliot was already serving a life sentence for the August 1993 murders of four people in Gladwin County.
