BALTIMORE TOWNSHIP, Mich.- Four people were hospitalized on Sunday afternoon, following a crash in rural Barry County.
The crash happened on Charlton Park Road, just south Sager Road around 2:45 p.m.
Investigators say a northbound vehicle driven by a 25-year-old man from Hastings crossed the center line and collided head-on with van carrying a 77-year-old man and his 74-year-old wife.
That couple was taken to the hospital. Police say the at-fault driver had to be extricated from his vehicle and airlifted to the hospital. His passenger was also hurt.
Investigators say the at-fault driver’s license is currently suspended. The crash remains under investigation, but officials say they are looking at drugs and alcohol as possible factors in the incident.
