KALAMAZOO, Mich. — For the second time in his three-game collegiate career, Jarvion Franklin is picking up a conference honor.
Western Michigan’s true freshman running back was named MAC West Offensive Player of the Week for the second time on Monday. Franklin ran for 168 yards and three touchdowns in his Waldo Stadium debut on Saturday, helping the Broncos to a 45-14 win over Murray State.
Franklin is now the fifth-leading rusher in the country with 542 yards this season. More impressively, his nine touchdowns are tied for the most in the nation – and is just one less than WMU’s team total for the entire 2013 season.
Western Michigan (2-1) wraps up their nonconference schedule this Saturday at Virginia Tech (2-2) at 12:30 p.m. ET.
