BEDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Two suspects are in custody after a home invasion was interrupted by the homeowners.
According to the Battle Creek Police Department, the incident happened around 3 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Duane Avenue. Officers state that the victims returned to the residence and interrupted a home invasion in progress.
Both victims were assaulted by one of the suspects. That suspect then fled on foot.
Calhoun County Sheriff Deputies and BCPD officers were able to apprehend that suspect south of W. Michigan Avenue. That suspect had a knife in his possession.
Later Battle Creek Police officers located a suspicious van nearby and arrested the occupant as an accomplice.
The two suspects are currently lodged in the Calhoun County Jail.
