BALTIMORE -- An NFL insider has reported that Ray Rice plans to appeal his indefinite suspension from the league Monday through the NFL Players Association.

The former running back for the Baltimore Ravens was suspended indefinitely after a video from February surfaced showing him punching and knocking out his then-fiancée  at a casino in Atlantic City.

Rice plans to argue that he was punished twice for the same offense.

Rice was given a  two-day suspension following the incident in February and suspended indefinitely after the video leaked from TMZ last week. The video leaked just after the NFL announced changes to its personal conduct policy.
