Driver crashes into Newaygo business

NEWAYGO, Mich. — A woman from Newaygo is recovering after the minivan she was riding in crashed into the front entrance of a West Michigan business on Saturday.

It happened just before 12:30 p.m. at H&R Block on W. River Valley Drive.

The business was not open at the time of the crash and no pedestrians were injured, according to investigators.

The driver, 65-year-old Carol Dewindt from Wyoming was not hurt and her passenger, 66-year-old Linda Rodriguez was transported to Gerber Memorial Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

It’s not clear yet what led up to the crash.
