BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Battle Creek Police removed seven dogs and two cats from a home Friday during an animal cruelty and neglect investigation.
According to a release, officers were called to a home on East Avenue at about 5 p.m. after a witness said they saw a dog jump from a second story window.
Police say that dog was emaciated, and they saw other animals in the house that were in the same condition. After obtaining a warrant, officials said they returned to the home, removed the animals and turned them over to a shelter.
The investigation is ongoing and police say charges may follow.
