Two people injured after motorcycle crash in Walker

WALKER, Mich.-  Two people are recovering at the hospital after a motorcycle vs. pick-up truck accident Sunday morning in Walker.

Kent County Dispatchers told FOX 17 that a motorcycle and a pick-up truck collided on Wilson Ave. NW near the intersection of W. Grand Blvd. around 11:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Officers on the scene say that the pick-up truck was trying to make a left hand turn when it was struck from behind by the motorcycle.

The driver and a 10-year-old boy who were riding on the motorcycle were injured in the crash. Both were taken to local Grand Rapids Hospitals for treatment.

The driver and the 10-year-old boy were both wearing helmets at the time of the crash according to witnesses at the scene.

It is unknown at this time whether or not the driver of the pick-up truck was injured.

Wilson Ave. was shut down for about an hour and half on Sunday while the Walker Police Department investigated the accident.
