MARNE, Mich. -- A woman from Grand Rapids is dead and three other people are in critical condition Friday after a wrong-way head-on crash on eastbound I-96 near the Marne exit.
The crash happened at about 3:36 p.m., according to officials on the scene.
According to Ottawa County dispatchers, Aero Med was dispatched to the crash.
I-96 was closed in both directions, but has since been reopened.
Police officials say the woman who was killed was the wrong-way driver. Her identity has not been released.
