“In-flight break-up” caused deadly aircraft crash

ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. – Investigators have determined the fatal aircraft crash in Casco Township on August 11th was caused by an “inflight break-up”.

45 year old Craig Ewing was flying an Evolution Trikes Revo weight-shift-control aircraft and died when his aircraft crashed between 109th Avenue and 68th Street.

Ewing was flying from Lansing, Illinois to Hastings Airport in Hastings, Michigan.

The National Weather Service issued an Airmen’s Meteorological Advisory (AIRMET) current in the area for conditions due to precipitation visibility below 3 miles and ceiling below 1,000 feet AGL.
