IONIA COUNTY, Mich. — One man is dead after an ATV crash overnight, that’s according to the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office.
It happened at midnight Saturday in the woods just north of Sayles Road, between Johnson Road and Hawley Highway.
Deputies say the 36-year-old man from the Saranac area may have been trying to climb a steep hill on his ATV. Witnesses said when he reached the top he was going too fast to avoid a large fallen tree branch. They said he lost control and went into a deep ravine.
First responders tried to revive the victim but were unable to do so.
