WEST MICHIGAN — (August 29, 2014) Rain has moved back into West Michigan after a dry few days and will stick around as we enter the big Labor Day Holiday weekend.

Shower and thunderstorm chances increase throughout the day on Friday and will continue through early evening. While storms are not expected to become strong, a few storms could bring potentially heavy rains.

Rain chances continue Saturday as a disturbance moves through the Great Lakes. This will allow for scattered showers and thunderstorms to develop and move through West Michigan throughout the day on Saturday. Once the front passes, the rain should start to come to an end by overnight Saturday. Low-level moisture Sunday morning will allow for some patchy fog, but skies will start to clear towards Sunday afternoon. Sunday looks to be the driest day during the Holiday weekend as more rain moves in Monday afternoon.

The weekend doesn’t look like a complete wash-out, but if you have outdoor activities planned it is safe to say that having a rain plan would be fairly smart.
