NORTON SHORES, Mich. — A 57-year-old man from Muskegon has died after a minivan hit and killed him while he was crossing the street.
Emergency units responded just after 1 a.m. on August 27 to Seaway Drive at Norton Avenue. Police say the victim was crossing Seaway when the minivan hit him. He was taken to an area hospital where he died of his injuries.
A 63-year-old man from Muskegon was driving west on Seaway when police say he hit the victim. He told police he had a green light at Norton Avenue. He also said that he saw the victim as he approached the intersection and tried to stop, but could not.
At last check, the crash remains under investigation.
