Handgun-wielding man robs Holland Township cab driver

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A Holland Township taxi driver was the target of an armed robbery Monday afternoon.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said that at 2:50 p.m. Monday, a 27-year-old male cab driver was dispatched to the 13000 block of Westwood Lane at the Whispering Pine Apartments in Holland Township. Upon arriving at the scene, the driver was met by the suspect, who entered the cab, produced a silver handgun and demanded money from the driver.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect then ran north from the scene from the Westwood Lane Apartments toward the Cascade Apartments in the area of 136th south of Quincy.

The suspect was described as a black male in his 20s, standing 5-feet-7, weighing 140 pounds and wearing a black do rag, a blue windbreaker and white sunglasses with American flags embossed in the lenses. He had a neatly trimmed goatee with more hair around the chin area.
