KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Western Michigan football is fully focused on their 2014 season – but they took a moment on Thursday to give one of their young fans a chance to shine.
John Mulhearn, whose father Sean was the 1990 MAC Defensive Player of the Year, lined up at tailback in his wheelchair and took a handoff from sophomore quarterback Zach Terrell at the end of the Broncos’ scrimmage. Once the ball was snapped, Sean weaved John through the WMU defense and scored a touchdown.
This video posted by Bronco Video calls the moment “a touchdown worth more than points.”
