MECOSTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Authorities in Mecosta County are searching for a driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that left one man seriously hurt.

Sheriff’s deputies say the crash happened around 9 p.m. Saturday on southbound US 131, just north of 11 Mile Road in Mecosta Township.

According to witnesses, a black car with tinted windows sideswiped another vehicle. The crash forced the second vehicle into the ditch and caused it to roll multiple times.

The driver of that car, 63-year-old Russell DeBoer from Cedar Springs, received life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in Grand Rapids.

Deputies are still searching for the driver of the black car. If you have any information, you are urged to call the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Department at 231-592-0150.
