EAST GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The police scene at East Grand Rapids High School has cleared Friday after a suspicious package was left on the property.

According to East Grand Rapids Public Safety officials, there was nothing dangerous in the package.  Investigators added that security video from overnight shows people breaking into the building carrying suspicious packages.

Between 15 and 20 people were evacuated from the school as a precaution, and the Michigan State Police Bomb Squad was also called in.

Crews cleared the scene at about 4 p.m., roughly six hours after receiving the initial unattended package report.

The incident remains under investigation.  Police say several suspects have been identified.
