CALHOUN COUNTY, Mich. — A handful of teenage suspects landed themselves in trouble early Friday morning, after police say they crashed a stolen van into a garage.
This all happened at around 12:40 a.m. on Terrace Drive in the village of Homer. Deputies found significant damage to a home’s garage, as well as the van, but no suspects were at the scene.
Witnesses said five people were seen running from the area. Deputies searched the surrounding area, and located three teenage suspects who admitted to being involved with the incident. They said there were indeed two other males that had yet to be located.
Police discovered that the van had been stolen from a home on S. Byron Street in Homer. After a K9 search, police located the remaining two suspects at a residence not far from where the van was stolen.
Two juvenile females and a 17-year-old male were released pending further investigation. Two male juveniles had warrants out for their arrest from Jackson County, and were taken into custody.
This incident remains under investigation, and charges will be filed in the near future.
