GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich.- Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies are on the search for a man who is a suspect in an abduction that happened early Thursday morning in Georgetown Township.
According to Capt. Mark Bennett of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were searching for Tomas Garcia Jr in connection to an abduction that happened early Thursday morning in the parking lot of the Brookmeadow Apartments. Deputies state that Garcia walked up to a woman’s vehicle with a knife and asked her to drive him to Grand Rapids to an ATM. Where she withdrew cash from the ATM for him.
Then Garcia asked the woman to drop him off at the intersection of Fulton and Lake Ave. in Grand Rapids.
A two count arrest warrant has been issued for Garcia, one for unlawful imprisonment and one count of armed robbery.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department told FOX 17 that Tomas Garcia Jr. was arrested by Deputies Friday afternoon around 6 p.m. in the Jenison area with out incident.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating this case.
