Emmett Twp. officer arrested on criminal sexual conduct charges

EMMETT TOWNSHIP, Mich. — An Emmett Township public safety officer was arrested Wednesday on two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

According to a release from Michigan State Police, the charges are related to two separate incidents at the officer’s residence in Emmett Township.

The Battle Creek Enquirer reports that 45-year-old Troy Estree  is that officer, and he’s accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl.

He has been placed on paid leave by the Emmett Township Department of Public Safety, according to a release.

Estree is being held in the Branch County jail for safety concerns and is expected to be arraigned Thursday in Calhoun County, The Enquirer reports.
