THREE RIVERS, Mich. — Police and fire crews in St. Joseph County responded to a wooded area on Aug. 6 for a report that an aircraft crashed in the area.
The wooded area is off of Hov Aire Drive near M-60 and crews got there around 7:30 p.m.
It was a single seat, single engine, fixed-wing aircraft that crashed. The pilot walked away from the scene and was taken to an area emergency room as a precaution.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the cause of the crash and the area will remain closed until that investigation is complete.
