Man charged in Holland motorcyclist’s death

OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — A 30-year-old man is facing three charges in connection with a fatal Aug. 3 crash.

Eulises Mora-Hernandez was arraigned Wednesday on charges of operating while intoxicated causing death, driving with license suspended causing death and failing to stop at a fatal accident.

According to Holland Police, Mora-Hernandez was driving an SUV that struck and killed 57-year-old motorcyclist David Achterhof.

The crash happened at about 9:05 p.m. Sunday on 32nd Street near Apple Avenue.

There were three total people in the SUV at the time of the crash, and police say two of them fled on foot after the vehicle struck the motorcycle.
