DETROIT, Mich. (WJBK FOX 2)- Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced Wednesday that former Detroit Tigers pitcher, Evan Reed, is charged with two counts of third degree criminal sexual conduct.

A 45-year old woman accuses the baseball player of assaulting her last March.  The woman says she believed she was drugged and sexually assaulted by the relief pitcher after hanging out with him in Royal Oak and Detroit.

Reed’s attorney denies the allegations.

Reed currently pitches for the Toledo Mud Hens, the Tigers’ Triple-A affiliate.

Reed has been with the Detroit Tigers organization since 2013.
