PORTAGE, Mich. — A female driver is hospitalized in critical condition after her vehicle rolled over Thursday evening.
At 5:51 p.m. Thursday, the Portage Department of Public Safety responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover accident in the 7700 block of South Westnedge Avenue.
The preliminary investigation shows that a 2003 Chevrolet Blazer was southbound on South Westnedge when the driver lost control and the vehicle rolled over and came to rest on the east side of the railroad tracks.
The female driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected during the crash. She was transported to a local hospital where she was listed in critical condition Thursday evening.
Police said speed appeared to be a factor in the crash.
