ALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Kent County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents to beware of a scam currently taking place around the area.

At 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, two men approached a residence on Four Mile Road NW
in Alpine Township, stating that they worked for a roofing company and offering to conduct repairs on the resident’s roof. The homeowner refused the service and they left.

The homeowner contacted the roofing company and was able to determine that the men were not employees of the company and that the incident was a scam.

The sheriff’s office said the men are described as two Hispanic males in their late 30s to early 40s who were driving a newer white sedan.

Anyone with any information about these men or who believes they may have been a victim of this or a similar scam is being asked to contact the Kent County Sheriff’s Office at (616) 632-6100.
