GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A former West Michigan radio host accused of child molestation is now facing charges at the federal level.
According to court documents filed Wednesday at U.S. District Court in Grand Rapids, John Balyo is facing charges of sexual exploitation of a child and possession of child pornography.
Balyo allegedly took sexually explicit photos of a preteen boy and was also in possession of a number of other sexually explicit images. The alleged incidents happened in Kalamazoo County in mid-April.
The former WCSG host was charged in Calhoun County in late June with two counts of criminal sexual conduct. Investigators said his arrest was part of a larger human trafficking investigation.
