Car Split in Two After Hitting a Tree, Driver in Serious Condition

COLON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (July 20, 2014)– Michigan State Police are investigating a crash that happened Saturday night.

Police say that around 10:45 p.m. in the 60,000 block of Farrand Road. 25-year-old Lance Goodman was driving northbound on Farrand Road when he lost control of his car and struck a tree with enough force to split his car into two pieces.

Goodman was airlifted to the hospital. According to police, Goodman was last reported in serious condition. They believe alcohol, seat belt use, and speed may all have been factors.

The crash remains under investigation.
