Cool, wet Tuesday ahead

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — High temperatures were in the middle to upper 70s in West Michigan on Monday, and it looks like we will be able to shave about ten degrees off that on Tuesday.

An upper-level low pressure system is moving in from the northwest. With this feature overhead Tuesday, we will have scattered showers. Thunderstorms producing hail are not out of the question either. The image above is from our in-house computer model, Future Track, and shows the showers developing around Noon.

The clouds and showers will keep temperatures well below normal (which is in the lower 80s this time of year). Here’s a look at how cool it will be Tuesday afternoon:

The cool temperatures will be short-lived, however. We could have our first 90-degree temperature of the summer next week.
