Based upon the investigation completed at this time, it appears that the 34 year old Coloma woman died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The investigation is continuing. Relatives have not been located to date.

The Michigan State Police at the Wayland Post are currently investigating a suspicious death that occurred in Casco Township/Allegan County. Troopers were called to a residence on 71st street, on Tuesday July 8th at approximately 3:30pm. In the residence, a 34 year old woman from Coloma, was found dead from a gunshot wound. The situation at the scene was suspicious in nature. The Michigan State Police Crime lab was called in to process the scene. Interviews are ongoing and there is an autopsy scheduled for today. The name of the deceased is being withheld at this time pending notification of relatives.

Michigan State Police have confirmed that a death investigation is underway Tuesday in Allegan County’s Casco Township after a 35-year-old woman was found dead from a gunshot wound.
Authorities were called to the 400 block of 71st Street at about 4 p.m.
Investigators with the Michigan State Police were still on scene collecting evidence as of 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
