Update: Information About Ionia County Tornado

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (July 9, 2014) — The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has confirmed a second tornado from Sunday night’s storms. It occurred in Ionia County from 12:16AM until 12:20AM. The map above shows the path of the storm. The city of Ionia is on the upper-left corner of the map.

One home lost part of a roof, and five farm buildings were damaged. There was also crop and tree damage with this tornado. There was no injuries.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning three minutes before the tornado touched down. It mentioned the possibility of a tornado. There was no warning in effect for the tornado that hit Kent County.
