SPARTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (July 5, 2014) — A man from Sparta died after a crash Friday in Kent County.
It happened along 13 Mile Road west of Fruit Ridge Avenue in Sparta Township.
Deputies said Eric Vanslyke was traveling on his motorcycle and hit a car attempting to back into a driveway on the south side of 13 Mile Road.
Witnesses told deputies Vanslyke was going at a high rate of speed, that’s according to the Kent County Sheriff’s Department.
Officials said Eric Vanslyke, 44 ,died.
Speed and alcohol were believed to be factors in the crash, that’s according to the Kent County Sheriff’s Department.
