ANTWERP TOWNSHIP, Mich. (June 22, 2014)– A stolen van has been recovered Sunday morning, according to Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department.
A property damage crash was reported just after midnight Saturday morning in the 59000 block of South La Grave Street just south of Paw Paw. When police responded, they discovered a black van with visible damage, but no driver or passenger. A K9 unit was called to pursue the suspects that had taken off on foot.
Police found that the van involved had been reported stolen several hours earlier. They found the registered owners and spoke with them regarding the incident. According to the owners, one of the suspects was in the house prior to the theft and crash.
A female suspect has been identified, but her information is not being released at this time. The entire incident remains under investigation.
