WEST MICHIGAN — (June 21, 2014) It’s been an active week across West Michigan, storms during the week brought heavy rain and gusty winds to parts of the area. Heavy rains of over 2 inches helped bring precipitation totals for the month of June above average for the first time since February.
While the morning will start out dry, there is quite a bit of moisture present. Fog developed overnight but will continue to dissipate as we head through the early morning. Chances for showers and thunderstorms will increase during the late afternoon and early evening.
While some areas will likely stay completely dry there is still a slight chance for storms to develop as we head into the evening. Storms that develop will be scattered in nature and will likely end by Sunday morning. Rain chances return once again Sunday afternoon as spotty showers develop towards early evening. More widespread rain moves in Monday as temperatures warm back up into the low 80’s.
