DETROIT, Mich. (June 19, 2014) – Democratic Rep. Gary Peters says he’s “humbled” to get the backing of the Detroit Regional Chamber‘s Political Action Committee in his race for U.S. Senate.

“Congressman Peters has a proven track record of bipartisan leadership that is focused on solutions instead of partisan bickering.” said Brad Williams, vice president of government relations for the Detroit Regional Chamber. “His support for immigration reform, increased infrastructure investment and his work with Governor Snyder on the New International Trade Crossing will translate well as he moves from the House to the Senate.”

The group represents businesses and their interests in southeast Michigan.

“I am humbled to have the support of the Detroit Regional Chamber,” Peters said in a statement. “As U.S. Senator, I will continue to work tirelessly to make Michigan a strategic hub in transportation, logistics, innovation and trade.”
