GRANDVILLE, Mich. (June 19, 2014) — An 85-year-old woman was assaulted Thursday during a home invasion on Prairie Street SW.
Grandville Police were called to the scene at approximately 11 a.m., according to a press release. The woman told officers that a man tricked her into letting him inside and then attacked her before stealing money.
The woman’s grandsons tell FOX 17 the incident happened around 10:30 a.m. They said she is expected to fully recover from the incident but is shaken up.
The suspect fled on a bicycle. He is described by police as a black male in his 20s between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall. He’s clean-shaven with short hair, the release says.
He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a light colored long-sleeve jacket and a hat.
