HOLLAND, Mich. (June 16, 2014) — Firefighters in Holland stayed busy early Monday morning when they received a call for a house fire while they were already at the scene of another fire.

The first incident was reported at around 11:12 p.m. on Sunday at a home on West 14th Street.  Dispatchers say there was a fire at a vacant house.  No injuries were reported.

Then, at around 12:40 a.m., another fire was reported less than a mile away on West 11th Street.  Additional departments were called to help respond.  An elderly man was inside at the time of the fire, but he escaped without injury.

Officials are investigating potential causes for both fires.
