MONTCALM TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of a possible attempted abduction near the intersection of Dickerson Lake Road and Greenville Road on Friday afternoon.
The incident occurred at 3 p.m. Friday. A 15-year-old Greenville girl was walking home after school and as she walked down the road a vehicle continually passed her until it stopped and the driver spoke to her. Initially the driver offered to give her a ride and when the Greenville girl refused, the driver ordered her into the car.
The girl ran off into a wooded area and eventually made her way to her home.
It’s believed the girl wasn’t targeted but rather was a victim of opportunity.
The suspect vehicle is reported to be a silver, mid-2000s Pontiac G-6 with a sunroof. The driver was described as a white male in his mid-20s to early 30s with a military style haircut, brown hair, no facial hair and wearing sunglasses. The only clothing description available was a red T-shirt.
There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
The Greenville girl was not harmed during the incident.
