Driver Runs Red Light; Causes Rollover Crash

PORTAGE, Mich. (June 10, 2014) — A woman from Kalamazoo was taken to the hospital following a rollover crash in Portage that police say she caused.

Police say that on June 9 around 9:27 p.m., a 31-year-old woman from Parchment was driving a 1994 Honda, and was turning north off Idaho Avenue onto South Westnedge Avenue. The Honda hit a 2005 Saturn that the Kalamazoo woman, 35, was driving. The Saturn rolled over onto the driver’s side.

According to police, based on evidence and witness statements, it’s believed that the driver of the Saturn didn’t stop for a red light, causing the crash. She was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
