BYRON CENTER, Mich. – A police presence around Byron Center High School Thursday afternoon prompted phone calls to the FOX 17 newsroom as locals wondered what was happening.
The district superintendent said at around 1 p.m. the Kent County Sheriff’s Department asked to use the high school’s parking lot, 8500 Burlingame Ave. SW, to help serve an arrest warrant at a residence just south of campus.
Students weren’t at the school at the time because they were dismissed at 11 a.m.
