GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (June 5, 2014) — The 2014 Festival of the Arts celebration will kick off in Grand Rapids on June 6, and the public is invited to help start things off with a flash mob.
Just before noon, festival organizers want people to show up at Calder Square, off Ottawa Avenue, and wait for a siren to go off, followed by music. Once it starts playing, they want everyone to start dancing, playing, or doing whatever comes to mind. There are no rehearsals or routines, just get up and enjoy the music.
The festival lasts three days and runs until Sunday, June 8.
