GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (May 31, 2014) – One man in a wheelchair was shot in the chest before 1 A.M. Saturday, according to the Grand Rapids Police Department.
Officials said it happened on Madison Avenue SE just south of Dickinson Street SE outside near a liquor store. Witnesses told Fox 17 News that the man who was shot was sitting outside when a fight broke out across the street; they said he was uninvolved and struck by a bullet.
The man shot is in his thirties, from Grand Rapids, and is in the hospital in stable but serious condition, according to police. There is no information on any potential suspects at this time, and no one is in custody, police said.
