Robbery Suspect Arrested; Victim Scared Him Off

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (May 30, 2014) — A 54-year-old man was taken to jail after police in Battle Creek arrested him for trying to rob a Burger King employee.

According to Battle Creek Police, on May 30 the victim was walking home from work at Miller and Willard avenues around 12:45 a.m. when the suspect approached him, implied he had a weapon, and demanded money and the contents of the victim’s bag.

The victim refused to hand over the money and told the suspect he had a knife. The suspect ran from the area, but the victim gave police a description of him. Police found him in the parking lot of the Urbandale Plaza and the victim positively identified him.

The suspect was taken to the Calhoun County Jail on a charge of strong armed robbery.
