GALESBURG, Mich. — A man is being sought after the PNC Bank was robbed Thursday afternoon.
According to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office, at about 2 p.m. Kalamazoo County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a bank robbery at the PNC Bank, which is located at 84 W. Michigan Ave. in this northeastern Kalamazoo County community.
Undersheriff Paul Matyas said a man walked into the bank brandishing a gun. After obtaining a small amount of cash, he ran to a getaway vehicle parked nearby in the Galesburg United Methodist parking lot.
The department later said the suspect was described as a black male in his early 20s, approximately 6 feet tall with a slim build, wearing a brown zip-up hoodie, a brown ball cap with a brown towel underneath, a black T shirt, tan pants, dark shoes and brown aviator-style sunglasses and armed with a handgun.
He was also carrying a blue messenger style bag with a light colored strap.
The vehicle was described as a small to midsize blue four-door car driven by a second person and which fled west of West Battle Creek Street.
Nobody is in custody yet. However, Matyas said detectives are “actively working leads.”
