GRAND RAPIDS, Mich (May 19, 2014) – A report of a suspicious package in a downtown Grand Rapids parking ramp led to a road and parking ramp closure this evening.
Officers closed a portion of Lyon Street between Monroe and Ottawa to investigate. A mobile command unit was also parked at the intersection of Monroe Avenue and Lyon Street near the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel.
Authorities with Grand Rapids Police say the investigation first started after calls came in just before 7:00 p.m.
Investigators located the ‘suspicious package’ and later determined it contained a book. Police cleared the scene around 8:50 p.m.
Nobody was hurt.
