Rib Fest Helps Raise Funds for Grand Haven VFW

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (May 18, 2014) — Grand Haven is the place to be this Memorial Day weekend as VFW Post 2326 holds their annual Rib Fest event. Food, music and more are on the menu, and the money raised goes to help those who served our country.

Here is how the event is scheduled:

Friday, May 23, 2014
3:00 PM: Grand Haven VFW Bar open to the public serving Michigan craft beers, domestics, and mixed drinks
5:00 PM: Rib contestants begin serving their best ribs and sides
$3.00 per ribs sample per vendor  $1.00-$2.00 per side per vendor
5:30 PM until close: Live bands (Power Slug and 4U2NV) in entertainment tent. Admission is free.

Must be 21 years of age or older to purchase alcohol
Saturday, May 24, 2014
9:00 AM: Grand Haven VFW Bar opens to the public featuring their popular American Pride Bloody Mary
11:00 AM: Rib contestants begin serving their best ribs and sides

$3.00 per rib sample per vendor  $1.00-$2.00 per side per vendor
12:00 Noon: Entertainment tent opens with live music from Chris Wiser
Admission is free

Serving Michigan craft beers, domestics, and mixed drinks. Must be 21 years of age or older to purchase alcohol

12:30 PM: Registration begins inside Grand Haven VFW building for Hog Calling contest

1:30 PM: Registration closes for Hog Calling Contest
2:00 PM: Hog Calling contest begins
3:00 PM: Hog Calling contest winners announced

4:00 PM: Live band (Rodentt) in entertainment tent
Admission is free

5:00 PM: Best Ribs and People’s Choice winners announced
6:30 PM: Live band (Power Slug) in entertainment tent
Admission is free

9:00 PM until close: Live band (Two Heded Chan) in entertainment tent
Admission is free
