NEWAYGO COUNTY, Mich. (May 15, 2014)–The father of a man who was stabbed to death lashed out at his son’s alleged killer in a Newaygo County courtroom Thursday.

For the first time, Tricia Hill was brought before a judge after admitting to FOX 17 and detectives that she killed her boyfriend, 28-year-old Charles Rainey III.

Hill claims she did it out of self-defense after the two got into an argument at their Ensley Township home on Monday, May 5.

While appearing for what was supposed to be a preliminary exam, the judge granted Hill’s attorney more time to prepare his case. Upon Hill being escorted out of the courtroom in handcuffs, Rainey’s father lashed out at her.

“She doesn’t need no more time…my son doesn’t have more time,” Charles Rainey Jr., the victim’s father said.

An autopsy shows Rainey died from a single stab wound to the heart.

Hill is expected back in court on June 4.
